With a sparkling rosé and an elegant Brut Reserve in the Premium line, Santa Carolina aims to seduce the most demanding markets.

Chilean sparkling wine keeps getting more and more interesting. A 25% increase in sales between 2006 and 2007, and markets that clamor for more motivated us to take a closer look—especially considering that Santa Carolina is one of Chile’s top three export companies.

Therefore, after making some major changes in the brand’s central portfolio, it was time to turn to the bubbles. Our two previously available entry level products—Brut and Demi Sec—have been updated and modernized with a new water- and temperature-resistant label. We also added a new Sparkling Rosé to the line to strengthen the offer.

The decision to broaden the line coincides with the conjugation of two factors, according to Santa Carolina Managing Director Felipe De la Jara, “sparkling rosé is a growing category—the major global brands are including them in their portfolios, and given the other changes that were making, it presented a unique opportunity to do offer this new wine.”

A fourth sparkler comes on board in the next range up as Santa Carolina debuts its elegant new Charmat-method Brut Reserve. “This new Santa Carolina Brut Reserve comes as a result of our increasing brand recognition, its good positioning in the category, and the potential of our enological capacity,” explains De la Jara.

“This is an outstanding quality sparkling wine with good structure and refreshing acidity. We choose the best Chardonnay grapes from Casablanca Valley. The plots are selected and specially managed to obtain the best fruit. The vineyard’s poor, granitic soils help control plant vigor and encourage great fruit-filled concentration, mineral notes, and natural acidity. The extended work with the lees produces a lush palate and a persistent finish,” comments brand winemaker Andrés Caballero.
